51-year-old Liaqt Ali has been fined over £3,000 after pleading guilty to four food safety offences at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday April 2, 2015.

Mr Ali was ordered to pay £3,401 after pleading guilty to the offences under the Food Safety and Hygiene Regulations 2013, relating to insanitary conditions found at Lahore Pizza and Kebab House, in 32 Alum Rock Road, Birmingham.

Environmental health officers found mouse droppings throughout the premises during an inspection on February 19, 2014, and the takeaway was closed.

The premises where allowed to reopen after officers revisited the takeaway finding no new evidence of mouse activity on February 20 and 21, 2014.

Ali was fined £2,500 and ordered to pay costs of £901.
