Breakfast meeting focuses on business and airport news
Solihull Business Improvement District held a successful networking breakfast with Joe Kelly, director of Birmingham Airport and current president of Solihull Chamber of Commerce.
More than 70 business leaders attended the packed event at the Lazy Cow on Warwick Road in Solihull.
The assembled guests enjoyed breakfast, coffee and networking before hearing an update on the work of Solihull BID from BID manager Melanie Palmer.
This was followed by an overview of airport development from Joe Kelly, including the runway extension and new routes coming online during 2014.
The breakfast was the latest in a series of highly-popular business events organised by Solihull BID.
Previous events have featured Andy Street, MD of John Lewis, Bob Jones, West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner and a successful event on apprenticeships with Paul Thandi, chair of the Regional Skills Board.
Melanie Palmer said: “As well as being informative and entertaining, Joe offered some valuable insights into the opportunities for central Solihull from the development of Birmingham Airport.
“His leadership of the chamber gives him a unique insight into the economic landscape for Solihull businesses across all sectors and the chance to discuss these, in the convivial surroundings of the fantastic Lazy Cow, was welcomed by the town centre businesses.”
