Cheque presentation to St.Mary’s Hospice, Birmingham
Presenting a cheque for £1,400 to Birmingham St.Mary’s Hospice in Selly Park is Wexfordman Paddy Rochford, pictured here with his daughter Anna and grandchildren Aoife and Cormac.
The money was donated by Paddy’s family and friends during Paddy’s 80th birthday celebrations at The Irish Centre in Digbeth.
Accepting the cheque is Rhianna Cooper, the hospice’s Community Fundraiser (right in picture) and her colleague Joanne Benbow (left)
Paddy’s huge birthday party was featured in last month’s edition of The Harp.
In the background of the photograph is the new Memory Tree, installed in the main reception area of the hospice.
Family and friends of loved ones can have their names inscribed on either silver or gold metallic leaves for a set donation.
Names will stay in place for one year and then the named leaves will then be given to relatives to keep.
