Cork Goalkeeper inspires Song
County Clare music legend MC Banner is releasing his first solo single “Don’t Do the Nash”. The song marks the new GAA rule that prevents hurling penalties encroaching past the 20 metre line, ending the rise and run in method of penalty taking made famous by the Cork Goalkeeper , Anthony Nash.
MC Banner the musician from Clare who had a huge hit last summer with the Clare All Ireland Final Hurling song “The Banner’s Back Again” was moved to rework the song made famous by Bobby “Boris” Pickett after hearing the new rule. Speaking from his Killaloe base, the musician who famously made a statue of Davy Fitzgerald after last years Clare All Ireland win said “It was only a matter of time before “the NASH” would be stopped by the GAA. It was too dangerous. The only advice I can give now is “Don’t Do The Nash”.
