Well-known Coventry musician Malachy Cairns paid a visit to his native Co. Meath earlier this year. He was the star attraction at Flattery’s Bar in his local village of Enfield, Co. Meath on Culture Night – Friday September 20th where he joined members of the local Comhaltas branch of traditional musicians and singers for a memorable session.

Malachy hails from just outside Enfield at a place called Kilbrooke where the late famous poet and composer Teresa Brayton was born. Among her most famous compositions was the ‘Old Bog Road’ which Malachy sang on the evening as well as playing the piano accordion and tin whistle. Malachy has lived in Coventry for almost fifty years.
