Air Tragedy
Two people died and another seven were seriously hurt after a private aeroplane crashed in Connemara, last month.
The dead were named as Paul McNamee, a 57-year-old accountant from Co. Galway and 59-year-old experienced pilot Matt Masterson from Dublin. It is understood that
all the passengers were involved
in the Clifden Airport Company
and the aircraft got into
difficulties whilst trying to land
at Aerfort na Minna, Indreabhán, Connemara.
Boat accident claims a life
Tony Hurst from Co Offaly died last month when he tried to free a trapped boat on Lough Erne in Co. Fermanagh.
The 60-year-old man was on a cruise with friends when they discovered another boat in distress. Mr Hurst lost his life as he tried to free the boat caught in reeds.
St Patrick’s celebrations moved
Religious celebrations for St Patrick will commence on the 15th of March next year, declared the Roman Catholic Church.
This decision was made after it was realised that the celebrations would clash with the second day of Holy Week. All other celebrations will run as normal.
