Brain centre opens
Ireland's first specialist brain injury centre opened last month in Stamullen, Co. Meath.
The 32-bed centre will facilitate specialist rehabilitation care and support to people who have suffered head traumas or neurological illnesses.
Trouble
in Mountjoy

70 prisoners barricaded themselves into D-wing in Mountjoy Prison last month and it took over two hours to restore order.
During the protest five prison officers were injured and received medical treatment in hospital.
Paris visit
The Taoiseach Brian Cowan spent the 14th of July in Paris celebrating Bastille Day.
