Knock
Sees Boom In Tourism
Tourism in the West of Ireland was given a huge boost last
year. As passenger numbers at Knock International Airport
increased by over 50 pc, a spokesman said
Numbers have more than doubled from 170,000 in 2000 to
373,000 in 2004.
A big reason given for the spectacular increase is down
to the fact that the airport is a very good alternative
to Dublin for people in Connacht and from surrounding counties
like Donegal, Cavan, Longford and West Meath. |
