By Enda Mullen

Going for it: Paddy Doyle, who is hoping to break yet another endurance record

NEVER one to rest on his laurels, Balsall Common ironman Paddy Doyle is already gearing up for his next record-breaking challenge.

Paddy, who already holds more than 100 endurance titles, will be attempting to win another World Fittest Athlete title, currently held by the USA's Rob Powell.

Paddy has already taken the World's Fittest Man title of Joe Decker from the USA and now he has his sights set on the World Fittest Athlete Champions Title - recognised by all the official world record bodies as the toughest physical challenge of its type that exists.
In order to claim it as his own Paddy must complete the following in a time of 19 hours and 17 minutes or less.

  • Run 12 miles
  • Walk 12 miles
  • Cycle 110 miles
  • Complete 1,250 star jumps
  • Complete 1,250 press ups
  • Swim two miles
  • Lift 300,000lb of weights
  • Row 20 miles
  • Complete 3,250 sit up crunches
  • Complete 1,250 leg lifts
  • Complete 20 miles on the elliptical walker

Paddy will undertake his next big challenge at the Virgin Active Club, Solihull, on February 16.
Spectators are encouraged to come along and support him for the least hour-and-a-half from 8-9.30pm.

If successful Paddy will hold a grand total of 130 strength, speed and stamina records, recognised by a variety of world record bodies.
