Police Seeking Man After Disappearance of Local Security Guard

Martin Stafford: sought by Police
WEST Midlands Police have named an Irishman man they wish to trace and speak to following the disappearance of security guard Michelle Gunshon, who vanished while she was staying at The Dubliner pub in Digbeth.
Police believe Martin Stafford, who was also staying at the Stratford Road pub at the same time as Mrs Gunshon, may have fled to the Republic of Ireland in the days following her disappearance.
Also known as Matthew or Matty, he has links in the London area and police are liaising with a number of other forces in a bid to track him down.
It is thought Martin Stafford was at the wheel of Mrs Gunshon's Ford Escort when it was caught on footage from two speed cameras in Birmingham just a few hours after she was last seen at The Dubliner on December 4.
The car was discovered two days later near to the pub and police found traces of Mrs Gunshon's blood in it.
The north London woman, aged 38, had travelled to Birmingham to work as a security officer at Clotheshow Live at Solihull's National Exhibition Centre.
She had been due to stay at another hotel in the city but because it was flooded she and her colleagues checked in to The Dubliner instead.
Mrs Gunshon, from Mill Hill, was last seen at the pub between 9pm and 10pm on December 4. Earlier that day she had worked at The NEC.
Her colleagues later discovered her bags and clothing were missing from her room and reported her disappearance.
There have been no reported sightings of Mrs Gunshon since she disappeared, no withdrawals from her bank account and her mobile phone has not been used.
Her daughter Tracy Richardson made an emotion appeal to the public for information on Friday January 7 at a press conference organised by West Midlands Police.
Police revealed environmental experts had been called in to try and discover exactly where Mrs Gunshon's car had been and it was thought traces of soil found on it came from the west or south west of Birmingham.
Police have called on members of the public to come forward with information.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A fresh appeal is being made to the public for help, particularly people in rural areas. People driving through the countryside are asked to be extra vigilant, as we have still not recovered Michelle's luggage, clothing or personal effects."
Anyone who can help is asked to contact the incident room at Canterbury Road police station on 0845 113 5000.
