Warwickshire
G.A.A. - Memorial Garden
 |
The
Memorial Garden at Parc Na h’Eireann is taking shape.
It only remains for the inscriptions to be put on later in
the year |
Prior
to the recent Warwickshire G.A.A. Convention ans annual Mass for
deceased members, the Warwickshire G.A.A. Memorial Garden was centre
of attention while a brief ceremony took place to bless the Memorial.
Fr Tim Burke from Emly, County Tipperary gave the blessing while
around 40 members of the G.A.A. representing clubs from throughout
the county took place. Fortunately the weather was fresh but dry,
allowing the Blessing to proceed without difficulty or discomfort.
Since we last referred to the Memorial Garden in The Harp a
surrounding fence has been installed along with a Celtic Cross which
sits on top of the Memorial itself.
The final stage of the project will see seating being put in place
and the inscription of the Memorial. It is anticipated that a decision
on the inscription and the names of deceased members to be entered
thereon will be made at County Board meetings early in the year.
A formal "opening" ceremony will take place once the facility
is completed
