Push me pull you

By Liam Waldron

Much to Tracey's horror, the litter bin hopes that driver Johnny is well insured

The licensee of the College Arms in Hall Green, Birmingham found herself in an extremely vulnerable position on the 10th of June as she was pushed and pulled for 2.25 miles around Cannon Hill Park.
The event took place to raise money for a minibus for Fox Hollies School in Acocks Green, Birmingham.
Tracey, armed with sponsorship from her customers at her popular pub was secured into a specially adapted shopping trolley and set off into the unknown.
The driving force behind her trolley was Mr Johnny Shaw and the trolley was custom made by ‘Bootsie the mechanic’.
The mode of transport proved so durable and the ‘pusher’ so efficient that the duo crossed the finish line in 1st place!
The event proved to be great fun and the College Arms raised £865.00.
Tracey told me, “It was a wonderful sunny day and it was great to see so many different people from so many different cultures enjoying themselves.”
The School are also performing in house fundraising events to reach the target of £4,000 required and Mr Shaw is aiming to complete a 50-mile bicycle ride for the cause.
Management, staff and customers at the College Arms are not unknown to fundraising events, with their last including raffles and donations in aid of St Mary’s Hospice on the 25th of May this year, raised £1,000.
