Air rage
A plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Shannon airport following an episode of air rage on board. The flight left Amsterdam and was on the way to Cuba when it was forced to land for safety reasons. Gardaí arrested a man and a woman and the flight continued safely to its destination.
Poolbeg Incinerator
Dublin City Council has approved the proposed Poolbeg incinerator.
The incinerator planned for Dublin, is estimated it will provide electricity to more than 100,000 homes in Dublin, and will burn approximately 600,000 tonnes of waste per annum has yet to be approved by An bord Pleanála.
Tragedy in Limerick
Mr Kevin Fitzpatrick, from Derbyshire has died in a tragic accident in Co. Limerick.
It is believed that homeless Kevin, 36 had been living in Ireland for the last seven years took shelter in a wheelie bin overnight.
His body was discovered at Luddenmore waste disposal depot and a post mortem proved the he was crushed to death.
