Bank kidnap
Gardaí have been appealing for witnesses after a family was kidnapped for money. The gang targeted a branch of the National Irish Bank in Dublin.
The family, a mother, her two teenage daughters and her son who was an employee of the bank were abducted from their home, separated and kept in various locations overnight.
The son was driven to the bank and ordered to return with money. The young man managed to escape after handing over the cash and his family were released.
The family were unharmed yet suffered from severe shock. It is believed the gang made off with approximately €300,000.
Patient transport
The provision of a round the clock service to transport critically ill patients between hospitals has been called for.
Specialists have reported that some hospitals do not have the resources to accommodate such cases.
