Ikea reaches Ireland
Ikea, the home superstore is set to open its first branch in Ireland in December.
The Swedish store will be opening in Belfast on the 13th of December and will cover 29,000 square metres.
American rose
The coveted position of 2007 Rose of Tralee was secured by New Yorker, 27-year-old Lisa Murtagh.
Lisa works as an attorney in New York has strong links with Ireland as her father hails from Longford and her mother from Limerick.
Sunken aircraft
in Derry

An aeroplane sank into the tarmac on the runway at Derry airport last month.
The plane, which flew in from Spain was held up on the tarmac for thirty minutes before being signalled to move into the disembarking bay. The aircraft was unable to move and all one hundred and eighty passengers were removed safely before the plane was moved.
Derry airport was closed earlier this year due to runway subsidence. Safety officials are investigating the incident.
