Partying in Ireland?

By Enda Mullen

Michael Fox

Stag and hen parties might be seen as the scourge of Dublin by some but interest in the Emerald Isle as a destination for 'last fling' celebra-tions shows no sign of abating.
And now a former Midlander is aiming to cash in on the boom by offering all manner of activities for groups of young people heading across the Irish Sea.
23-year-old Michael Fox, who hails from Solihull, set up his internet travel intermediary business based in Donegal.
Weloveweekends.com caters for young people planning weekend breaks and stag/hen parties to Ireland offering all manner of activities from the action-packed and adventurous ones to more relaxing pursuits.
Michael, a former pupil of St Peter's Catholic School, moved to Ireland five years ago to pursue a degree in business studies and management at university.
After graduating he decided to fulfil his life-long dream and start his own business.
The inspiration for the website came from Michael's own personal experience of a stag party gone wrong.
The night proved so hard to organise revellers reluctantly ended up going to a nightclub - minus the groom - for most of the night.
Michael said: "The night was a disaster, we felt awful. The groom was having such a rotten time that he just gave up and went home.
"We had tried to help the best man to organise something by looking online for ideas, but we were shocked to see the lack of websites that could help us.
"I decided to set up the website after hearing many other complain of the same dilemma.
"With this website the organising is already done and all you have to do is decide where you want to go and what you want to do."
So far it is the only website in Ireland that enables people to pre-book activities from pony-trekking to power boating, online, in advance.
Michael added: "It provides everything people could possibly need for an enjoyable and carefree time such as flights, car hire, hotels, day and night time activities, and it also even provides the customer with the option of ordering fancy dress costumes and customised t-shirts and memorabilia to add to the fun."
Initially activities were primarily in Donegal but weloveweekends.com has now expanded operations to include Cork, Kerry and Galway and there are plans for further expansion.
