Midland’s entrepreneur offers virtual assistance

A young Midland’s entrepreneur saw a gap in the market and decided to take action and start up her own business. Nicola Hession-Kent from Hollywood, Birmingham has established herself as a Financial Services Virtual Assistant, providing back-office support to IFAs and professionals within the Financial Services sector.
Nicola explained, “My goal is to give advisers, the opportunity to grow their business and to have more time to spend with their clients, by taking on the time-consuming administration work that may be currently holding them back.
“The admin support I provide gives the advisers freedom to use it as and when required, either with ad hoc projects or on a regular long-term basis. It is a flexible, efficient and cost-effective support service. This cuts out the need, overheads and business risk associated with employing a member of staff.”
“As a lot of advisers work from their own home office, it may not be logistically feasible to take on a member of staff, so by being remote, they will get the advantage of getting admin support without having to provide office space or equipment. I work from my own home-based office in Solihull, and using the Internet, VOIP phone and access to emails, I can operate as if I were working alongside them in their office.”
With over 10 years experience in the financial services sector Nicola said, “I am qualified to undertake financial administration. My background includes a variety of roles including IFA Support, Policyholder Communications and worked in the call centre of a large life and pensions company dealing with collections, bonus mailing and funds merger queries.”
Nicola continued, “By outsourcing admin work, my customers will be saving themselves valuable time, which they could be using on fee-earning activities.”
Her company is already proving to be a valuable resource with financial advisers who struggle with the volume of admin work, but don’t wish to incur the cost of employing an additional person.
Nicola added, “Whether I can assist with a one-off project or on a long-term basis, I’m always happy to discuss requirements and see if I can help.”
