Kitty Riley, Sr. Sabina and Cath Gilliver gratefully accepted a cheque of £1,000 for the S.I.F.A. Fireside, which tackles homelessness, alcohol misuse and social exclusion in the Midlands.

The funds were kindly donated by the family of the ‘Grandmother of Irish Dance’, Mauretta Armstrong, who passed away earlier this year. The money was raised at her funeral and it was her wish that it went to the S.I.F.A. Fireside Centre.

Sr. Sabina Staff said, “I would like to say a big thank you to the family, it was very much appreciated.

“As much as her legacy will continue within the dance fraternity, she continued to support the community she loved, after her death.
