St Paul’s got Talent 2014!
The final of St Paul’s Got Talent took place just before Christmas at St Paul’s School. Just 10 finalists performed on the evening, which would certainly have given Simon Cowell a run for his money!
Hundreds applied, and were slowly whittled down by the Head Girl team who organised the event over a couple of months and did a fantastic job; so well done Annie, Stephanie and Eleanor. The audience was treated to a vast array of singing, dancing, a piano composition, gymnastics and a musical improvisation.
The judges tasked with the tough decision were Mrs Patel, Sim Doyle (both St Paul’s) and Ms Taman from Birmingham City Council HR Department.
Dermot O’Leary had better watch out, as our own YR 13 girl Safaa did a fantastic job compering and introducing the Acts!
A fantastic time was had by all, including parents and supporters who turned out to cheer on their favourite act. It was a close contest and all 10 acts were worthy of winning, but the contest was won by Y10 student Gift, who performed an amazing Nigerian dance which set the audience alive and soon everyone was on their feet!
Very well done Gift, you are a worthy winner.
All of the girls received a certificate for taking part, which was greatly deserved, and were deemed winners by Head Dr Casserly, for showing great courage and confidence in their performance. “It has been a wonderful event and the talent and courage displayed by the girls was tremendous, they deserve to be extremely proud of themselves as I am of each and everyone of them”.
