The Midland’s Heart is Beating
The producers of Riverdance have returned with a new spectacle of music and dance in their daring creation ‘Heartbeat of Home’.
25th of September 2013 saw the World Premiere in Dublin, which followed the preview runs to sell out audiences. It is not surprising Heartbeat of Home will resolute so strongly amongst the Irish people but also those across the world as it’s real, it searched for and found sheer talent.
The worldclass Irish dancers who make up the troupe include our own Midlanders; Ciara Sexton, Bobby Hodges, Andy O’Reilly, Callum Spencer and Tom Brosnan. To say the local dancing schools are elated at their achievement and success would be a massive understatement.
The task to drive this ambition and to turn those ideas from the drawing board into a reality fell to no one better than Birmingham raised multiple World Irish Dancing Champion John Carey, who has for the past number of months been working solidly alongside colleagues to choreograph the new show for a new era. John told The Harp, “It has been an absolute privilege working with the most outstandingly talented and hard working cast and crew I have ever seen, I have loved every single minute of this experience”.
What strikes me so much about John is his modesty, yet he really is an extraordinary talent who quite simply creates magic, he leads from the front with his vision and passion, and to think this is echoed by the thousands of people who have stood to their feet at the end of each night since the opening of Heartbeat of Home on at the beginning of the month must be the biggest accolade anyone could ever wish for, and so deserved.
www.heartbeatofhome.com will be touring the world in 2014.
