The Script announce Birmingham Tour date
Popular Irish band The Script have announced they will be visiting Birmingham as part of a world tour in February 2015.
The three-piece outfit will be performing at the LG Arena on February 26 and tickets are now on sale.
The Script will also be joined by special guest Labrinth.
The tour announcement comes hot on the heels of the release of the band’s fourth album, ‘No Sound Without Silence’, which immediately shot to number one on the UK iTunes chart, and is in the Top 10 in a further 42 countries.
The latest album follows the top three smash hit ‘Superheroes’, which is currently the most played track at UK radio. The video for it premiered earlier last month and has already picked up over five million views.
A spokesman for the band said: “‘No Sound Without Silence’ is the sound of a band firing on all cylinders and channeling the momentum of their last, rocket-powered campaign.
“The trio of songwriters had so many ideas while touring last year, they were busting out of the specially-built mobile recording studio they’d taken with them on the tour bus.
“They finished touring at the end of last year, took a scant couple of weeks off, then quickly re-entered their studios in London and Dublin to begin work on the highly anticipated ‘No Sound Without Silence’.”
The Script have enjoyed huge success globally, selling more than 20 million records, with all three albums so far enjoying multi-platinum status throughout the world.
‘Hall Of Fame’, the lead single from the band’s last album, was a worldwide number 1 single with over five million sales, 142 million Youtube views, and over 100 million Spotify plays.
The Script have done especially well Stateside, where they have five platinum singles and have sold over a million albums.
Their 2015 world tour starts in South Africa in January, before hitting the UK the following month.
