Ulster make Play-Off but Leinster remain on top

The latest victories for Leinster over Ulster and Munster over Edinburgh have brought the prospect of an All-Ireland RaboDirect PRO12 Final even closer at the end of the month. However while Leinster remain on top Ulster have also guaranteed themselves a play-off place after they fought valiantly for a losing bonus point in their 22-20 defeat. It was even more impressive considering that they played much of the game with just 14 players after Tom Court was red carded. Two late penalties from Paddy Jackson earned Ulster a valuable bonus point after a sometimes feisty encounter.

Munster’s impressive 55-12 victory in Edinburgh has also mean that Rob Penney will bow out by leading Munster to a possible RaboDirect final.
